This Release Day Party is presented by Enchanted Book Tours.

"Sweet, subtle, heart-warming romance." --USA Today Bestselling Author, Nicola Marsh

Two people from opposite worlds, one unforgettable kiss.

You can't judge a carny by its cover.

At a town fair on the coast of Oregon, handsome Native American carny, Vincent Youngblood, bestows an unforgettable kiss on shy, awkward teenager, Charlotte Davenport. Then disappears without another word, leaving her baffled and enamored.

Ten years later, Charlotte is still living in the small fishing town of Astoria, while being trained to--reluctantly--take over for her philandering hotelier father when he retires. After all, who else will do it? Her two perfect sisters are busy being married to their flawless husbands and having cookie cutter children, while Charlotte remains single, childless, and every bit as mousy as she was a decade ago.

As Charlotte struggles to climb out from underneath her judgmental parents thumb, the carnival rolls back into town, and Charlotte finds herself face to face with Vin again. He's back to run his father's carnival, walking away from a promising career in medicine he started in Chicago. Will her biased and judgmental family accept her relationship with a man who is not only a Native American, but works as a carny for a living? And what unsavory secrets bind the well-educated and seemingly superlative Vin to that ramshackle carnival? After all, you can’t judge a carny by its cover.

Special Teaser Quote!
"“You know, the neighbors will talk if they see you slipping into the house in the morning like this.” My dad’s voice yanked me out of my memories, and I squeezed the railing until my knuckles went white. Without turning around, I said calmly, “The neighbors didn’t see me. It’s five thirty in the morning.” I could practically feel him frowning at the back of my head. “You’ve got some nerve sneaking in here like this. What kind of a woman stays out all night?”

“A woman who is twenty eight years old.” I turned around and faced my father."

  1. You had me at Oregon and carny. I'm a native Oregonian and love stories set here!

  2. My first kiss was with a nothing like a fairytale. It was a snuck in kiss on my parents love sofa. The guy was my ex-boyfriends best friend, but we had been dating for about a week or so. I still remember the Wintergreen gum. To this day everytime I chew it, it reminds me of him.

  3. My first kiss was in a rush. My parents and some family friends were in the living room and I have been kissed by their 11th old boy ( I was ten), a cute blond with big blue eyes that melt your heart. It was breathtaking and quite amazing and I'll never forget it.

  4. It was really sweet, he grabbed my hands and just kiss me slowly :) then he kiss me on the cheek and smiled to me. It was a perfect first kiss for me =)
