Teaser Tuesday (September 6, 2011)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Miz B at ShouldBeReading where you randomly take two lines from your current read (spoiler-free please) and highlight them in a post. These week we're featuring two YA novels and one MG.

Our first teaser is from an upcoming release, Crave (The Clann, Book One) by Melissa Darnell.

"This freak had finally learned some dance skills, maybe even good enough to make the Charmers dance team next month, if I was crazy enough to audition. Ha! Let the Clann sense these emotions."

Blurb: Savannah Colbert has been shunned all her life by the kids of the Clann. And when she undergoes some drastic changes after a strange illness, Savannah learns secrets about the group and about herself—dangerous secrets. For the Clann are powerful magic users, and Savannah herself is half Clann and half vampire—a forbidden, unheard of combination. Falling for Clann golden boy Tristan Coleman isn't just a bad idea—it could be deadly if anyone finds out. But her attraction to Tristan—and his to her—isn't something either of them can resist for long. (Paperback, 416 pages. Expected publication: October 18th 2011 by Harlequin Teen.)

Our second teaser comes from Egypt: The Uprising (The Battle for Maat, Book One) by Amira Aly.

"You will be fine; the first time is the hardest," said the other voice in my head. This one, also male, sounded younger and much more interesting, but I was in no condition to develop a crush on an invisible guy--especially one who, for all I knew, inhabited my head."

Blurb: Why is the Arab world in turmoil? What instigated the Spring of Freedom? There is more to the story than meets the eye...
The very fabric of the world is at stake.

And , believe it or not, your fate lies in the hands of one book-loving Egyptian teen with an extraordinary heritage .

Aya is an Egyptian teenage girl trying to mind her own business and take care of her brother. As their country is swept by the tides of a revolution against a tyrant nicknamed the vile pharaoh, Aya tries to stay adrift. But her blood has something different in store for her.

Learning what the Ancients have always known, She joins a battle for truth and freedom-- a battle for Ma'at.
(ebook. Published May 31st 2011.)

Our third and final teaser in from Spartacus and The Circus of Shadows by Molly E. Johnson.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" came the announcer's voice from on stage. My grip tightened on the stilts."

Blurb: When Spartacus Ryan “Poop Lip” Zander finds his house destroyed and his wacko, Human Cannonball mother missing, it’s obvious that she’s been kidnapped by Bartholomew’s World-Renowned Circus of the Incredible. But when his dad and brother refuse to believe it—because they’re morons, obviously—it’s up to Spartacus to be the hero.

With the Internet-wizardry of his best friend and clues from his mom’s postcards, Spartacus sets out on a zany, west coast rescue mission. But as the stories about the circus get stranger (and Spart’s enemies get weirder), he realizes the only way to bring his family back together is to bring the big top down, once and for all.
(Hardcover, 320 pages. Expected publication: October 4th 2011 by RainTown Press.)

Now that we've shared our teasers, what are you reading this week?

  1. I have Egypt and Crave! Those quotes make it sound awesome, and since I haven't read them yet, I'll have to do it soon.

  3. Great teasers! I'm reading Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead (finally!). The Vampire Academy series is kind of my guilty pleasure series. Sorry I don't have a link though...

  4. Crave sounds good - will have to put it on my wishlist.

  5. Crave looks interesting. I've seen it popping up some. Love the teaser.

I have to admit that Egypt the uprising's teaser is more integrating though.
