I Adored A Lord is the second book in Katherine Ashe's historical romance Prince Catchers series and it is utterly and totally charming. Ravenna is my kind of favorite female lead: strong but not overbearing, intelligent, good-natured, kind-hearted, has enough innocence to make her endearing, and filled with spunk. I thoroughly enjoyed reading her story. Her love and dedication in caring for animals endeared her to this animal lover. I loved her sass and fire too. Her first scene when she meets Vitor is an absolute riot as Revenna fights the obvious chemistry between them. As for Vitor-should I say Lord Vitor-he is also charming, exciting in his dangerous antics, and a man to swoon for (when he isn't kissing pretty girls in barns).
This is my first novel by Katherine Ashe and it won't be the last. The author's precision with details and description truly put me in the same time period with Ravenna and Vitor. From the smallest button to the proper wordage of the time, the author's richness with her details put in their world. The mystery angle did have me guessing whodunit to the very reveal. The romance between the leads was incredibly sweet and slightly spicy in spots (in the proper time period appropriate way, of course). Their scenes together, from their flirty banter to their obvious chemistry, was a joy and kept me reading throughout the evening.
Prophecies, murder, a young woman who is not a lady, a Lord with an intriguing past, I Adored A Lord offers readers an engaging romp with endearing characters and an equally interesting storyline. Excuse my pun but I thoroughly adored this lord and lady's story.
