Billi Jean Book Tour

We welcome the Billi Jean Tour today. Billi Jean writes paranormal, historical and contemporary romance. We interviewed the author and loved her responses. Please read on to discover this author and her books.

Blurb: Ranger is a werewolf, a Lykae with a problem. He's found his one true mate, the only female who can complete him. Only trouble is, he's denied his instinct to claim her. Now his mate hates him as much as she believes he hates her. He will have to risk both their lives to finally prove to his stubborn vampire he loves her?

Star is a half-breed vampire with a past of not being accepted because of her mixed blood. Ranger is just one more example of how much she doesn't fit into the immortal world no matter how much she tries to fool herself into believing otherwise. She's a strong female, a fighter, but when it comes to the opinions of others, she has no defenses. Why fight what she knows is true? She is a half breed, less than those around her. She has a home, friends and females she loves like family. Only trouble is, her family is now related to the mangy wolf man who hates her.

Blurb: When life throws Samantha a curve ball in the form of an ancient Lykae warlord bent on marking her as his—what's she going to do? Run like hell? Oh, yeah, that so worked the first time around. With Derrick hot after her tail, Samantha discovers being the hunted just might not be as bad as she thought.

Derrick is a warlord hardened by centuries of battle. Now that he's free from years of torment, he discovers his mate. Only his beautiful little half wolf is as determined to deny him, as he is to claim her.

As the battle to keep her safe intensifies, Derrick faces the biggest fight of his life: winning Samantha's heart and keeping alive long enough to claim her.

An Interview with Billi Jean:
You've moved around a lot during your lifetime, have any particular locations made their way into your stories?

Oh, I'm busted. Everywhere I've lived, visited or even dreamed of visiting make their way into my stories. I do a lot of research, as well as dig back into my memory of what life was like at A, B, or C. I used my life on a ranch in a menage that's not made it's way to the presses yet and a contemporary that's due to release in March of 2012. :) Canada found it's way into Midnight Star and Silver's Chance. LA into some of my other paranormal romances. I try to use not just where I've been, but my experiences of moving around, and what that kind of life was like for a kid and so on. Builds character, right? Well, it also makes you a bit of a loner -- living for an eternity would probably do the same. So....my immortals share some of those lone wolf tendencies.

Any memorable times or places when your Muse has struck?

I once had my muse strike in the middle of work, and I only had around 20 minutes to write down an entire outline for an incredible break through in a story I was struggling with. It was amazing. And my hand hurt afterward!!!

What is it about the romance genre that appeals to you?

I like to add the spice to the love affair. I could write strict fantasy -- and do it well, I think -- but I would feel that the story is lacking. I simply love the romance of the romance genre. Will you write any other genres? I do have a fantasy story on my desk top reminding me to finish it up. The story grew out of my childhood and into a 700 page first person story that I hope to break up into three different novels in a series about a woman and a land she discovers is hers. :)

What is your favorite supernatural creature?

I think my favorite supernatural creature is the witch. I simply love the witches that are in my series. They kick some butt and do it with a smile. :)

you could be one creature for a day, what would you choose?
I think I'd choose to be a witch. Like I said, they have style, strength and good looks. They are tough, but softly feminine, and yet don't back down when confronted with a fight. Gotta love spunk.

What makes your ideal alpha male?

Ohhh....good question and one I've asked others. I think a good alpha is strong, brave, honorable and trustworthy. You can count on him. But a real good alpha is also opinionated, protective, direct and used to having people follow his orders....He needs a strong, spunky female to stand up to him.

would you cast as your alpha male characters?
Oh, hands down, Gerald Butler! Throw in Eric Bana, Russell Crowe and Christian Bale.
Did you participate in Nanowrimo this year?

 was your experience?
I love the Nano write. I had a blast. I pushed myself and did it. I think the nano for me is a chance to work hard on keeping my word count up and explore my creative side without thinking about editing/and so on.

I love the covers for your books. What were your responses when you saw them for the first time?

My covers are great because Fiona Jayde is so awesome. She does such a great job of listening to authors --- and that is an amazing thing!!! I loved both covers. Loved them. I squealed like a girl...well, I am a girl, but I freaked. The lips on Silver's Chance -- Derrick's lips...omg....and Star looks amazing in Midnight Star. Just amazing work and Fiona is simply a genius!!!

About the author: Billi Jean has been writing since high school when she couldn't wait for Robert Jordon to write his Wheel

of Time series faster. She writes from home in a little two hundred year old farm house in Western Massachusetts where she shares her space with her active children, an old dog, and two lazy cats.

Her first book, Midnight Star, has won numerous awards and was voted Best Book by Long and Short Reviews. Her next installment in the Sisters of the Moon series, Silver's Chance, hit the shelves in August 2011. The next, A Spartan's Kiss, will arrive right on Valentine's Day, 2012.

Stop by her blog and leave a message! She can also be found on twitter and Facebook. For more information on what's coming up in her series, friend her on Goodreads, or follow her blog for snippets of her upcoming stories in the Sisters of the Moon series.
